About the Catalina 28
The Catalina 28 is the smaller of Chris-Craft's two center consoles. It shares the twin-outboard power and 600 HP maximum of the Calypso 28, but puts them in a center console layout instead of a dual console. It suits owners who want walk-around room and a choice of how the helm is set up.
Its distinguishing feature is the helm seating choice. Chris-Craft offers a reversible helm seat paired with a sliding YETI cooler, or a double-wide helm seat with flip-up armrests on a cockpit galley base with a drawer refrigerator, freshwater sink, trash receptacle and drawer storage. The helm has a flush-mounted Garmin display with CZone switching, an inductive phone charger and USB ports, and dual displays are an option.
Power is twin Mercury Verado 225 or 300 HP outboards with joystick piloting and electric steering. The bow seating has hinged backrests and storage under each seat, there is a head with storage, and a cockpit side-boarding door with ladder is part of the design. The extended swim platform has synthetic teak flooring and a handheld shower, and a Seakeeper 1 gyro stabilizer is optional.
Flying Bridge Marina can arrange a Catalina 28 sea trial at its New England or Southwest Florida locations, and its Sell or Trade service can value a boat you are moving up from.
