About the Sportster 28

The Sportster 28 is the larger of the two Chris-Craft Sportster models, a series the builder files under its "Family Bowrider Range." It is offered with sterndrive or outboard power, where the Sportster 25 comes in sterndrive and Surf versions, and it has an enclosed portside head, which makes it a fit for families who spend full days on the water.

Chris-Craft lists a persons capacity of 12. The sterndrive version takes Mercury V8 or Volvo V8 engines from 350 to 430 HP, for a stated maximum of 430 HP, and the outboard version takes a Mercury V10 at 350 or 400 HP, for a stated maximum of 400 HP.

The layout has U-shaped bow seating with a forward-facing lounger, L-shaped port cockpit seating with storage beneath hinged cushions, and a sunpad with a flip-up backrest over several transom storage areas. The head has a Corian countertop, cold-water sink and LED lighting. The helm uses a custom Chris-Craft interface with teak accents and a leather-wrapped stainless steel wheel, and a pull-down swim step and a power-folding top with tow point are part of the design. A premium JL Audio system with six speakers and a subwoofer is optional.

Flying Bridge Marina sells the Sportster 28 at its New England and Southwest Florida locations and can arrange a sea trial. Chris-Craft builds its boats in Sarasota, Florida.
